We are pleased to invite you and your students to attend Royal City Musical Theatre Society's upcoming production of Shrek the Musical at the Massey Theatre. A designated school performance has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 PM, and we would love to welcome schools from across the district for this special evening of live theatre.

Based on the beloved DreamWorks animated film and the book by William Steig, Shrek the Musical is a lively and heartwarming stage adaptation featuring music by Jeanine Tesori, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Licensed by Music Theatre International (MTI), the story follows an unlikely hero on a journey that reminds us that true beauty comes from within.

Filled with humor, memorable songs, and a colorful cast of fairytale characters—including Princess Fiona, Donkey, and a host of lovable misfits—Shrek the Musical celebrates friendship, acceptance, and embracing what makes us unique. With its positive themes and engaging theatrical spectacle, the production is an excellent introduction to musical theatre for students and an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.
